The primary purpose of this position is to actively manage/oversee inbound and outbound activities associated with the movement of both domestic and international freight. This position is responsible for international compliance in regards to the Export Administration Regulations. This position is responsible to ensure CDW remains compliant as an organization in all our documentation, procedures and policies by advising in house legal counsel on all levels. The role interacts cross-functionally with several organizations including sales, warehouse, customer relations, purchasing, accounting and selected carriers to maximize efficiency across the supply chain with the objective of reducing cost, enhancing asset utilization and increasing service levels related to the movement of freight. Timely and accurate resolution of shipping issues and a high level of customer service are key aspects of the position.

Essential Functions:
Ensures the efficient flow of inbound and outbound product both domestic and international destinations.
Ensures compliance with export administration regulations.
Consults, advises and makes recommendations to legal regarding all international shipping and compliance processes and procedures ensuring compliance.
Makes decisions regarding exceptions to internal compliance guidelines.
Manages mock audits to ensure proper international documentation is obtained.
Performs quotes and reviews orders prior to approval for shipment.
Tracks and identifies carriers whose service, quality and safety performance does not meet CDW objectives.
Oversees compilation and presentation of quarterly carrier performance scorecard.
Assesses current processes and systems to identify needs, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
Pursues best practices.
Drives continuous improvement.
Supports the implementation of strategic initiatives.
Manages the relationship between US customs and CDW in regards to exporting.
Identifies cost reduction opportunities.
Facilitates coworker development.
Acts as a single source contact for areas of accountability.
Creates and monitors motivation programs to maintain a high departmental morale.

Organizational Relationships: Reports to the Logistics Manager. Titles reporting to this position include the Domestic Logistics Analysts, Import/Export Analysts, International Compliance Administrator, and International Auditor.

Requirements:

Minimum Basic Qualifications –

Four year college degree.
3 years experience with domestic and international LTL, TL and airfreight.
1 year of leadership experience.

Other Required Qualifications –

Has a successful record of achievement.
Ability to interpret and understand government regulations on import/export shipments, including customs, rates and tariffs.
Proven ability to manage projects from inception to completion.
Exhibits the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a hands-on approach, strong analytical and problem solving skills, excellent customer service skills and a thorough understanding of the transportation environment.
Pursues objectives with a high degree of diplomacy combined with tenacity required to accomplish goals.
Ability to present, convince and execute ideas professionally.
Must be self-motivated, a team player and have the passion to be the best.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access.
Must be able to communicate effectively and in a constructive manner with management, peers and coworkers.
Strong written and verbal skills.
Strong coaching and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications –

Warehouse experience.
5+ years Import/Export experience
