Work closely with established Company resources (Risk Management, Safety & Security, Emergency Response, Technology, and others) to ensure the safety and well-being of SWA People and business operations.
Maintain a working knowledge of the Company¿’s operational departments to better execute the goals of the Business Continuity Planning program.
Assist with risk analysis for functional areas to identify points of vulnerability and recommends risk mitigation strategies. Analyzes environmental, technical, and location specific threats related to critical Company resources; recommends avoidance and risk reduction measures and improved continuity capabilities.
Participate in business impact analyses and assists Company departments to determine critical business processes, identifies acceptable recovery timeframes, and establishes the resources required for the successful resumption of business operations in the event of a crisis. Assure records required for recovery are identified and properly maintained.
Support the efforts of staff members in the development of recovery process and procedures for key areas of the organization.
Assist with development and maintenance of standards and procedures for business continuity documentation. Ability to utilize third party applications to structure and maintain business continuity and recovery plans.
Support business continuity training for staff members in all functional areas.
Assist with the exercising of business and technology recovery plans across different functional areas.
Work with outside consultants, suppliers and service providers as appropriate. Maintain relationships with external organizations and associations regarding Business Continuity practice.
Respond to crisis situations with a clear sense of urgency while exhibiting calm and confident behaviors.
Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description.
May perform other job duties as directed by Employee''s imum Requirements
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
EDUCATION (Level, and degree if applicable)
Bachelor degree or equivalent work expereince
WORK EXPERIENCE:
One to two years of Continuity Planning experience.
LICENSING/CERTIFICATION:
Certification through Disaster Recovery Institute (DRI), Business Continuity Institute (BCI), or similar industry accreditation is a plus. Must have willingness and ability to obtain certification within 24 months.
SKILLS/ABILITIES/KNOWLEDGE/WORK STYLE:
Demonstrate understanding of and aptitude to apply BC concepts and methodologies.
Ability to relate business requirements with technical recovery capabilities.
Experience working within Teams under established deadlines.
Ability to create written materials, including reports, presentations, and other documentation as needed.
Ability to work independently on deliverables and meet expectations.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to foster relationships with Colleagues and Customers.
Good organization, time, and stress management skills. Works well under pressure and makes informed decisions.

Must meet confidentiality expectations pertaining to confidential, proprietary and sensitive Company information.
Must have exceptional organizational skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must have ability to type and/or use a computer keyboard with sufficient speed to meet demands of job.
Must work well with others as part of a Team.
Must be able to handle multiple situations simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
Must have judgment sufficient to handle and solve complex situations.
Must be a motivated, self-starter able to prioritize and organize projects with time constraints and the ability to complete them in a timely manner.

Must have ability to travel as needed to any assigned Southwest function.
