WORK ACTIVITIES/CONTEXT: - Must possess a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint. - Prepares the budget for and performs detailed variance analysis (with multiple variables and drivers) on a series of General Ledger account(s) or Cost Center(s) or Department(s). - Prepares or reviews the accrual for General Ledger account(s). Researches invoice and accounting transactions affecting account(s). - Prepares written footnotes summarizing variance analysis findings for budget packages. - Develops relationships with Customers, peers and Leaders. - Understands the basics of an Income Statement. - May present simple material, both written and oral, to Finance and department Leaders. - Attends and actively participates in business meetings. - Provides ad Hoc financial and operational support to Finance and department Leaders. - Needs limited supervision and/or direction. - Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description. - May perform other job duties as directed by Employee''s imum Requirements BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: - High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required. - Must be at least 18 years of age. - Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986. EDUCATION: - 4-year college degree with business related major OR 4-year college degree with at least one year of finance-related experience at Southwest Airlines. EXPERIENCE: - One or more years of finance or accounting related experience preferred. - Public Accounting experience preferred. PHYSICAL ABILITIES: - Must be able to perform physical activities such as lifting (50 lbs), standing, sitting, driving, pulling, pushing, squatting, hearing, climbing, walking, kneeling, reaching, crawling, writing and speaking. - Must be able to sit in an office environment for extended periods of time. SKILLS/ABILITIES/KNOWLEDGE/WORK STYLE: - Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines. - Must be Customer Service oriented. - Must be able to maintain confidentiality. - Must be able to work well with others as part of a Team. - Must possess strong organizational skills. - Must be able to handle multiple, concurrent tasks. - Must be able to work under stressful conditions while maintaining a positive attitude.
