KEWAUNEE FABRICATIONS, LLC Position: Assembler B LEVEL III (Hourly)
Reports to: Manufacturing Supervisor Essential Functions: · Efficiently and accurately checks and adjusts mechanism(s) for completion and function. Specialize in all types and phases of assembly. Work includes primarily mechanical systems. Parts handled weigh up to 10,000 pounds with suitable cranes, dollies, etc., provided for heavy components. · Repair assembly defects or shortages before and after inspection. Requires the use of hand tools such as wrenches, sheet metal tools, pliers, screw drivers, hammers, bars, etc.,. Equipment used includes overhead crane, torch, power drills, power tester, hydraulic press, pneumatic hammer, jacks, etc. Materials used include hydraulic fluids, solvents, sealants, gaskets, component parts, etc. · Reads and/or interprets assembly drawings, blue prints, sketches, service manuals, bills of materials, and verbal instructions. · Every employee is expected to: - Complete all required paperwork including labor reporting and documentation of quality control and material movement. - Work safely and maintain the work area with high standards of housekeeping. - Perform self-inspection and other required quality control functions at the employee's work station. - Perform required Preventive Maintenance activities on machinery and/or equipment operated. - Train and/or assist in the development of personnel. - Perform other duties as assigned by Supervision. Qualifications: · Ability to plan and perform a sequence of operations based on standard and recognized operation methods. Make general decisions regarding quality, tolerances, etc., requiring judgement. · Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Physical Demands and Work Environment: · Sustained physical effort, requiring continuity of effort lifting and working with materials and equipment, utilizing appropriate handling equipment when possible. Requires constant mental and visual attention and alertness. · The work may require specific but common, physical characteristics and abilities such as above-average agility and dexterity. · This job requires a substantial amount of physical exertion such as standing, walking; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, climbing , crawling or similar activities. Work environment may include exposure to noise, fumes, etc., on a regular to intermittent basis. · The work involves every day risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of shop areas, use of safe work practices with equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of safety regulations etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. Education and Experience Requirements: · High School diploma and/or equivalent. · Requires trade knowledge in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical fields. Equivalent to four years high school plus short term trade school training. · Work Experience over one (1) year up to three (3) years.
