Driver - Class A/TouchFreight

Position Summary:
Penske Logistics is looking for qualified CDL A truck drivers to become part of an excellent team. This is a great opportunity to continue your career with one of the nation's largest logistics companies.

Route/Activity - Drivers are responsible for delivering food products to storage units. We have 2 routes available. Both routes average 2 layovers per week.

1st route : Driver makes 1 stop in Iowa and 3-4 stops in Chicago. Iowa is a dock delivery using electric pallet jack. Chicago deliveries will use liftgate and hand truck. Drivers will be required to breakdown pallets. Route begins Wednesday night runs through Sunday night/Monday morning. Driver will spend 2 nights in the sleeper cab.

2ndroute: Driver makes stops in Kansas City and Chicago. Driver unload using liftgate and handtruck. Wednesday/Thursday deliveries in Kansas City - Friday local driving - Saturday/Sunday deliveries in Chicago (Route begins Wednesday night runs through Sunday night/Monday morning). Driver will spend 2 nights in the sleeper cab.

Responsibilities:
-Loading, unloading, or assisting in loading and unloading truck.
-Maintain driver logs according to I.C.C regulations.
-Compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, continuous training and customer service.
-Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines.
-Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles before and after route.
-At least 23 years of age required
-CDL Class A required
-2 years of tractor trailer driving experience in the last 5 years required
-2 years of clean DMV/MVR record required
-High School Diploma or equivalent required
-Driving school and or safety certifications preferred
-Dealing with people skills, reliable and customer oriented, and ability to work independently required
-Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment required
-Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening
