DRIVER - FUEL
Job Objective
The Truck Driver - Fuel is responsible for delivering fuel and bulk lube oil to commercial accounts in a safe and efficient manner.
Job Functions
The following are essential job functions:
1. Make delivery of bulk petroleum products.
2. Load bulk trucks at various racks and refineries.
3. Unload petroleum products at customer’s locations including above ground tanks, below ground tanks, and wet hosing customers vehicles and equipment.
4. Collects C.O.D. payments for goods delivered when requested.
5. Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations.
6. Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions. Loads and unloads truck.
7. Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil and water.
8. Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, and spark plugs.
9. Communicates any customer needs, or new establishments to appropriate office personnel for follow up.
10. Performs other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required, assigned or requested.
Job Specifications Skills Required:
§ Able to handle 2” to 4” hoses, fittings and flanges of all sizes.
§ Able to communicate in a professional and courteous manner with customers and dispatchers.
§ Able to work irregular hours which include nights, weekends and holidays.
§ Commercial drivers license (Class A or Class B) with all endorsements and at least one year of commercial driving experience and current DOT medical card.
§ Able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
§ Able to write simple correspondence.
§ Able to effectively present information in one-on-one small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
§ Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units
§ Able to meet physical requirements of job§ High school diploma or GED
§ 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in similar role.
