This position provides a full range of transportation and customer service duties relating to Fairbanks terminal operations, demurrage, billing procedures, rail operations, and rail inventory management. PLEASE NOTE: This is a flex position with a grade range of 6/7. Entry-level incumbents will be paid WC-6 wages until they demonstrate that they can perform the full range of duties as outlined in the position description. Determination of an incumbent's ability to perform the full range of duties will be made by the supervisor and is generally reached after 12 -18 months of work experience. Minimum Qualifications:
Grade 6 Qualifications: High School diploma or GED is required. Three years of general office experience (to include one year of customer service experience) is required. Must possess the ability to prioritize and make good decisions based on quickly changing information. Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills are required. Must be able to operate a computer using word processing and spreadsheet programs (Word and Excel preferred). Must be able to type 40 wpm. Excellent communication skills are required. Must be able to drive a motor vehicle and have a valid driver's license. Experience working with accounting and billing procedures; hazardous materials rules and regulations; and freight revenue management is preferred. The incumbent may be required to work shifts and on holidays.
Grade 7 Qualifications: In addition to the qualifications required for the Grade 6, the incumbent must have one year of specific experience in dispatching and transportation logistics as well as one year working with accounting and billing procedures; hazardous materials rules and regulations; and freight revenue management. Determination of incumbent's ability to perform the full range of duties will be made by the supervisor and is generally reached after 12 -18 months of work experience.
