Overview:
Applies professionally recognized sales skills and processes, using CRM software, to recruit independent owner/operators and drivers for the FedEx Custom Critical fleet. Enhances the FedEx brand image by strategically placing prospective or active owners to maximize their engagement in the contractor business model. Nurtures assigned fleet of owners as company policies and market conditions change over time. Meets or exceeds performance measures of truck-adds, fleet retention and other targets as defined. Position Information:
* Persuades, negotiates and sells the opportunity of independent contracting with FedEx Custom Critical to prospects. Strategically probes individual interests and needs to align needs with opportunity at FedEx. Overcomes objections honestly without overselling the offering. Uses a standard sales process model to maintain leads and prospects at early, mid and late stage candidates. Close sales. Meets or exceeds expected trucks-add targets through a four-quarter fiscal year. * Coaches new contractors as issues arise while they are on the road in their first 30 - 60 days. Educates contractors on any policies and procedures and how they apply to the daily expectations. Troubleshoots concerns and contractor remorse to (1) improve individual sales process and (2) to overcome concerns for achieving individual retention goals for the quarter. * Nurtures new relationships built in the recruiting process. Keeps contractor fleet abreast of current market trends and conditions and how they are affecting FedEx. Motivates and encourage high-level engagement to keep FedEx's best interests in mind. Provides general fleet management advice as needed to assist in growing the contractor fleet profitably. Assists in recruiting drivers for the owner's company to keep the truck(s) in service. * Maintains reliable detailed contact and activity information in the company Customer Relationship Management software system to enhance FedEx CC market /fleet intelligence. * Analyzes Motor Vehicle Reports and criminal reports against FedEx Safety Policy, DOT regulations and Canadian regulations to pre-qualify leads. * Attends truck shows to represent the FedEx brand image in person. Meets face-to-face with contractors and vendors. Attends optional workshops to help educate and train persons interested in the expedite lifestyle. * Conceptualizes new approaches to reach leads and prospects. Provides market analysts with key messages and market needs to provide an ongoing supply of fresh and effective advertising. * Performs other duties, as assigned. Qualifications:
Our ideal candidate will have: * Bachelor's level of education preferred, but not required * Experience in operations of transportation industry * 1 year experience in sales (retail, inside and / or territory sales) * 2 years experience in recruiting * Experience in managing a sales process from cold-calling to close
