About us Group Trucks Operations encompasses all production of the Group's engines and transmissions as well as all production of Volvo, Renault, Mack and UD trucks. Group Trucks Operations also includes spare parts supplies to the Group's customers as well as logistics.
Position Description

Summary:
Material Handling Supervisor supervises the material handling function of stocking material in the proper locations along the production lines, delivering sequenced material as needed for the production schedule, and following up regarding missed material. This position is directly responsible for inventory control on the production lines in support of the production build schedule.

Core Responsibilities:
· Supervises Material Handling Technicians in delivering and maintaining line sequenced materials, stocking materials in the proper locations along the production lines, and following up regarding missed material
· Collaborates with manufacturing/ industrial engineering teams in facilitating timely changes and ensuring accuracy of material information
· Provides support to internal and external customers in identifying and locating material
· Maintains inventory accuracy
· Manages material bins, ensuring accurate location, labeling, and placement
· Communicates inventory status with production and planning
· Manages and enforces housekeeping and safety rules throughout areas of responsibility
· Provides leadership and direction to Material Handling Technicians in daily assignments, priority setting, and resolving materials issues that immediately impact production
· Directs and manages area of responsibility to meet and achieve Company goals
· Effectively utilizes manpower within areas of responsibility
· Implements appropriate processes and procedures to promote optimum efficiency in the handling and delivery of materials and ensuring employee safety
· Collaborates with plant management and other supervisory staff to assign, direct, review, and monitor work of supervised staff to maximize efficiency and productivity in the materials and receiving department
· Champion’s Lean activities in assigned areas of responsibility, identifying waste and promoting continuous improvement
· Promotes a team environment that stresses employee participation and engagement
· Enforces Company policies and abides by contract language
· Analyzes and resolves work problems and assists workers in solving work problems
· Provides training, instruction and guidance to direct reports
· Effectively utilizes all systems available to manage and control inventory
· Maintains SAP and all payroll reporting systems

Minimum Education and Experience:
· Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Logistics or related discipline
· Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience based upon demonstrated performance in related Logistics or Manufacturing supervisor or leadership roles
