Job candidates are not only seeking a rewarding career or position during their job search, but also a company that engages in fair hiring practices from the start of the job interview to the final selection. Applicants can learn how to succeed during an interview by researching the companies that give the best interviews, as rated by current employees and previous applicants.

Glassdoor, a popular jobs website, sought out input from job candidates to rate companies that offered the most engaging and fair job interview experience, reports Susan Adams with Forbes. United Airlines topped the list with 73 percent of job candidates surveyed agreeing that the interview and hiring process was a positive experience. Interviewers at United Airlines asked candidates questions such as "What is a common misconception that others may have about you?" and "How do you handle conflict?" Candidates even reported being asked "Why should I not hire you?" during the job interview, which prompted applicants to think critically about skill areas that need improvement, ultimately improving their ability to answer questions and prepare for interviews.

PwC, ranking No. 1 in the accounting industry on the survey, was reported to offer a mix of personal and behavioral questions during job interviews. Applicants were impressed that partners of the firm participated in the hiring process and that interview questions revolved around the importance of working cohesively with teams.

Time Warner Cable was also high on the list of companies offering the best interviews. Job candidates report the company has supervisors interview applicants, focusing on both behavioral and decision-making based interview questions. A key benefit noted in the survey is the company offers a pleasant working environment and employees are encouraged to grow and develop their skills.

Additional companies that scored as top contenders include Bath & Body Works in the retail industry, U.S. Bank in the credit union and banking category and Johnson & Johnson representing pharmaceuticals and biotech. Red Lobster topped the list as the best interview in the casual restaurant category, and the Intel Corporation dominated computer hardware and software.

The benefit of knowing which companies offer an engaging, fair and hopeful job interview is that candidates can prepare adequately and rehearse answers to questions that show their personality and professionalism. It's often difficult to walk into an interview without any knowledge of the approach of the company. The inside scoop can make or break the opportunities for job candidates.

Preparation is the ultimate key to nailing a job interview. Research the company, seek out businesses that share your goals and beliefs and show your best side when making a first impression. Employers are seeking individuals who have not only the experience to succeed on the job, but also the personality to mesh well with the team dynamics.
