Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Logistics Coordinator based in Los Angeles, California, 90045, United States. This role involves coordinating and optimizing logistics operations, managing a team of dispatchers, ensuring stellar customer service, and maintaining compliance and safety standards in the airfreight industry.
Coordinate the dispatching of airfreight shipments to ensure punctual delivery and adherence to customer requirements.
Utilize transportation management systems to schedule, track shipments, update routes, and communicate with team members.
Monitor various factors such as flight schedules and weather conditions impacting airfreight operations to proactively address any potential issues or delays.
Optimize delivery routes to maximize efficiency and minimize costs, considering factors such as traffic patterns and fuel consumption.
Collaborate with other departments like operations and customer service to streamline processes and improve overall logistics performance.
Lead a team of dispatchers, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and productivity.
Liaise with customers to address inquiries, resolve issues, and provide updates on shipment status.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including those pertaining to airfreight transportation.
Foster a positive work environment focused on teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Utilize skills in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suites, Customer Service, Deliveries, Documentation, Computer Aided Dispatch, and Dispatching. Requirements - Proficiency in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions
Familiarity with IBM AS/400 and Microsoft Office Suites, including Microsoft Excel
Experience with 'About Time' software
Strong customer service skills and experience
Knowledge and experience with customs procedures and deliveries
Proven ability to handle documentation tasks effectively
Experience with Computer Aided Dispatch and dispatching processes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and in a team
Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field is preferred
Previous experience in a logistics coordination role is desirable.
