PAY RATE : Starting at $34.00/per hour

SCHEDULE : Monday - Friday (8:00am - 4:00pm)

LOCATION: Goose Island Beer Company - Chicago, IL

ROLE SUMMARY:

Daily moving of product, in a timely and safe manner, between locations roughly 2 miles apart. Frequencies on trips depends on scheduled workload for that day.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Drive commercial tankers, and/or tractor-trailer combinations to transfer products between warehouses.

• Ensure accurate completion of Department of Transportation checklist and report maintenance problems and accidents in a timely manner.

• Comply with truck driving rule and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.

• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, safely in a CITY environment with 53 foot trailers.

• Safely operate various types of warehouse equipment (pallet jack, forklift, etc.) as necessary.

Tankering

• Your cargo includes liquid containers with 5,200 gallon capacity.

• The containers will vary between empty, partial and full.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED is required.

• Must be at least 21 years of age.

• Valid Class A CDL is required.

• Must have a safe driving record (Accident free for 5 years minimum)

• Valid DOT physical

• Tanker Endorsement highly recommended.

• HAZMAT and Food Certificate recommended, but not required.

• Forklift certified, or ability to receive certification soon after hiring.

• A team player, open to learning and willing to contribute to all areas of the brewery as needed.

• Previous beverage industry experience strongly preferred.

• Flexible availability and willing to work overtime.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Conducts work in a standing and sitting position primarily, however, job requires frequent standing, walking, stooping, bending, and light lifting.
