    NiteHawk Sweepers is seeking a Material Handler to join our Purchasing team. This important position helps our busy production facility run smoothly and stay organized on a daily basis. In support of the Purchasing Manager, the Materials Handler ensures all parts and materials that go into the manufacturing of our products are properly stocked, organized, and that required min/max quantities are maintained. This person also assists in locating, packaging, palletizing, and loading incoming and outgoing freight. This role works closely with our entire production team, and opportunities for cross-training and advancement are available to those who demonstrate reliability, hard work, and initiative.

    Essential Functions of the Job:

    • Use forklift, pallet jack, and other tools to unload delivered materials to receiving area

    • Inspect received materials to ensure accuracy and identify non-conforming materials

    • Receive correct materials into the inventory management system

    • Support Materials Manager, production team, and customer service team in packaging and loading of outbound freight and parts

    • Stock materials in the appropriate location

    • Support Materials Manager in maintaining inventory accuracy through cycle counts, inventory counts, and audits

    • Support Materials Manager in proactively identifying and resolving inventory issues and shop disorganization

    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of shop at all times

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):

    • High school diploma or GED certificate required

    • Experience in manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred

    • Forklift certification preferred or willingness to become forklift certified

    • Possess a valid driver's license and maintain and insurable driving record

    • Able to lift 40 lbs unassisted

    • Proficient computer skills; ability to work in Microsoft Office Suite and JD Edwards (or similar MRP system) preferred

    • Enjoys working independently and on a team

    Working Conditions:

    Work performed in a manufacturing environment. Ear/eye protection, steel-toed boots, and other PPE required. Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and walking throughout production facility.
