Stage Hand

GENERAL PURPOSE

Under the direction of faculty and supervisory staff, stage hands will prepare, set up, tear down, adjust, repair, and maintain stage and theatre equipment at the Eastman School of Music. This includes orchestra instruments, seating, stage lighting, audio and visual equipment, scenery and any other equipment needed for rehearsals and performances within Eastman production and performance spaces.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Loading in equipment and scenery for a production

• Assembling and arranging equipment, instruments, scenery on stage for each production prior to and during the performance

• Repairing and maintaining equipment and scenery

• Tearing down and loading out equipment and scenery at completion of production

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

• 1-year related experience required

• Knowledge and/or familiarity with all stage equipment.

• Awareness of safety at all times.

• Good communication and concentration skills.

• Ability to read and write English, and to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

• Ability to lift items weighing up to and including 100 pounds

Pay Range

Pay Range: $16.49 - $23.08

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
