    ID.

    SUMMARY

    Under general supervision and following prescribed procedures adheres to and identified cost-effective transportation from different sources (company fleet, contracted and Class 1 Rail car Providers,) to meet customer's needs while maintaining transportation budgeted targets.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Responsible for generating, obtaining, providing and securing rail tracking and reporting on all rail moves, submitting documentation and communication of rail status, reporting and resolution for exceptions.Identifies and implements scheduling of rail fleet on round-trip and continuous moves in order to increase service level. Manages, tracks and established rail car maintenance schedules ensuring minimal disruption to fleet with focus on order fulfillment.

    Works with billing department to verify all shipping and billing transactions per established procedures.Responsible for soliciting/receiving and tracking all rail maintenance records and then processing orders through system/s. Resolves problems with shipments including service delays and freight claims associated with rail moves and communicates effectively to help mitigate financial impact.Monitors tracking, tracing and troubleshooting all issues with regard to Class 1 rail providers

    & Simplot rail fleet assets. Working knowledge of rail tracking systems ex.

    Loup, Bourque. Resolves most questions and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher levels.May adapt procedures, processes and techniques to meet the more complex requirements of the position.

    Duties and tasks are frequently non- routine.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Three to Five years related experience and/or training. This is an intermediate level position to the Transportation Coordinator job family requiring broad knowledge of transportation and Class 1 Rail Providers.Demonstrated understanding of personal computers.Applies some advanced skills in and Rail Transportation knowledge.Good communication and interpersonal skills. Associate's Degree (A.A. or equivalent)Combination of education, training and/or experience will be considered for this position.These statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
