Island Air transitioned to an all-Q400 Turboprop fleet Monday following the final flight operated by its ATR-72 aircraft from Lihue to Honolulu. The retirement of the ATR fleet began in January when the airline acquired its first Q400 aircraft. The fleet is now comprised of five 78-seat Q400 aircraft, slightly larger than the airline's 64-seat ATR-72 aircraft, and 30 percent faster than conventional turboprops.
